A short documentary spotlighting Hear We Art™, ILA Creative Studio's immersive community experience fusing visual art, live sound, and healing practice into a single room. Led by local Black teaching artists and co-facilitated by wellness practitioners, each session invites Chicagoans to build emotional vocabulary, cognitive resilience, and connection through shared creative ritual — with programs curated for educators, families, and communities impacted by gun violence.
As Creative Director, I shaped the film's visual language and narrative arc — framing Hear We Art not as an event recap but as a portrait of what care looks like when artists lead it. As ILA's marketing consultant, I aligned the documentary with the studio's broader brand positioning, turning a single program into a repeatable piece of cultural infrastructure the organization could carry into partnerships with the Chicago Park District, the MCA, and Healing Illinois.
A Studio Thurman collaboration with ILA Creative Studio.
